The EMU in question is the Universities “Environmental Move for U” project which set out to be an innovative, effective and replicable collaboration project between Estates and the School of Health with the target of maximising engagement in carbon management.
The more specific aim was to promote collegiality and engender well-being and to prepare and move 150 staff and 3,000 students from an 'off campus' building to a new 'GREEN' building on City Campus.
During the presentation Hilary Pape who was one of the partners delivering the project and Russell Smith, the Universities Estates Manager will discuss:
· How the project was launched in the old building and led to success in the new building
· How results were measured using a web-based metering system
· What the outcomes of EMU were and how an average energy saving of 33% was achieved beating the traditionally accepted 10% improvement through energy saving measures.
· Practical aspects to be aware of when implementing energy saving schemes within your own portfolio of buildings and the impact of them.
The event will take place at the Rosebowl building with the usual buffet and refreshments on arrival at 6pm and the presentation starting at 6.30pm.
